PURPOSE: To obtain an IR objective lens system of which the front lens can act as a front port. CONSTITUTION: The IR objective device subjected to optical thermal insulating and achromatting includes a front focusing lens assembly having at least one piece of diverging lens 4 acting as the port and one piece of converging lens 2 and a rear diverging lens assembly having at least one piece of diverging lens. Three pieces of these lenses are so selected as to be made of three different materials which are usable in a spectral band of 8 to 12μm. The lenses are respectively made of germanium, chalcogenide and zinc sulfide in particular.
