The procedure consists of producing a mould (1) for the object to be reproduced (e.g. a mask) and mounting it on a back board (6), if necessary with the aid of a wedge to raise its upper end. The mould is attached to the back board, and is then covered with pieces of leather (7), held in place by adhesive (9) applied over at least a part of the covered area. The leather is moistened before application so that it conforms well to the surface of the mould, and after it has dried the mask is removed from the mould, tinted and varnished. USE/ADVANTAGE - More effective relief shape produced when making leather ornaments such as masks or busts.
