PURPOSE:To execute a smooth response against change of product oxygen gas demand by controlling supply quantity of liquid oxygen from a liquid oxygen storage tank through a liquid-level meter and a valve. CONSTITUTION:When demand quantity of product oxygen gas increases rapidly, holdup of liquid oxygen 22 in an upper tower 14 decreases, by this, a liquid level becomes lower than the predetermined value. Whereupon, a liquid level indicator 22a at once detects the liquid level and makes a valve lift of a valve 27a large. As a result of that, much quantity of liquid oxygen begins to be supplied into the upper tower 14 from a liquid oxygen storage tank 23, and then a liquid level of liquid oxygen 22 in the upper tower 14 comes to rise to a predetermined height. When demand quantity of product oxygen gas decreases, an reverse action is executed. Thus, by controlling a liquid level of liquid oxygen 22 so as to be always of predetermined height, reflux liquid quantity generated in a condenser 17 becomes proper and whole equipment acts wit optimum conditions. Accordingly, without changing purity, proper quantity of product oxygen gas can be delivered from a pipe 35 in response to demand quantity.
