PURPOSE:To facilitate a data editing work by setting a data protecting area in a sentence editing mode and, at the same time, carrying out the sentence editing work. CONSTITUTION:An operator selects a part or the whole of the sentences stored in a sentence information storage means 7 with a sentence selecting area setting means 1. Thus, the selecting area is stored in a sentence selecting area storing means 2. When the operator sets a data protecting mode with a data protection setting input means 6, a data protection start flag setting means 4 and a data protection end flag setting means 5 set the data protection start and end flags at the head and the end of the selected area respectively as long as the selected area is stored in the means 2. |
