The rolling mill cylinder chock assembly device incorporates a bearing with outer and inner rings and a locking ring (11). An additional ring (12) has apertures (14) which engage with the locking ring. A component (16) can move parallel to the axis of the cylinder and act on moving balls (15) so that they engage with a recess round the cylinder during assembly and disengage from it on dismantling. Wedges (13) are incorporated between the two rings to permit regulation of axial play in the bearing. The moving component has an inner recess (19) which can receive the balls during dismantling, and a slot (18) for a spring (17) which is relaxed during the assembly process. ADVANTAGE - Faster fitting and removal.
