PURPOSE:To make efficient picture compression processing at all times possible by setting higher priority to components of motion vectors whose absolute sum is smaller. CONSTITUTION:The priority of a motion vector (horizontal component, vertical component)=(0, 0), that is, the priority of a right back vector is 15, which is highest, and the priority to motion vectors (-7, -5) and (-7, -7) is respectively 3, 1. The priority is based on a 4-direction distance from the right back vector. That is, a motion vector whose absolute sum of the horizontal and vertical components is smaller has a higher priority. Furthermore, a priority Pr is latched in a 2nd register 24 and its content is incremented or decremented by a 1 incrementer/1 decrementer 25 receiving the output Pr in response to a control signal such as an external clock signal and the result is returned to the 2nd register 24 and the desired priority is obtained. |
