<p>The chair is supported by a short vertical column (3) on the underside of its seat (1), with horizontal arms (4) at its lower end supported by wheels (5). The column and base assembly is enclosed in a two-part casing (7) which encloses the whole mechanism between the underside of the seat and floor level. The two portions (7a,b) of the casing have opposing mushroom-type shapes, with their narrower ends (8a,b) telescopically engaging with each other. A height adjuster (9) is housed within the column, such that the casing components slide relative to each other on adjustment of the height of the seat.
