PURPOSE: To attain sufficient sensitivity of the element and moreover, to maintain and further improve its granularity by using an emulsion layer contg. at least three redsensitive silver halide emulsion layers as component of the element. CONSTITUTION: In this element, an emulsion layer contains at least three red- sensitive silver halide emulsion layers wherein: the first layer is a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer placed most distantly from a substrate and is a coupler deficiency layer contg. no cyan image dyestuff forming coupler and contains at least one development inhibitor releasing coupler, a first yellow color compensation dyestuff forming coupler and a cyan dyestuff formation masking coupler; and the second layer is a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer having lower sensitivity than that of the first red-sensitive layer and contains a cyan image dyestuff forming coupler, a development inhibitor anchimeric assistance release type coupler, a bleach accelerator releasing coupler, a cyan dyestuff formation masking coupler and a second yellow color compensation dyestuff forming coupler.
