摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a bearing correcting apparatus, which can obtain the more which is used for detecting the position of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:After a series of initial settings are finished, a vehicle is started. In a position detecting part 6, the running distance data from an initial position are computed based on the wheel-rotation-speed signals from wheel-speed sensors 1a and 1b. In a bearing estimating part 5, the present bearing is computed based on the angular-velocity data of a gyroscope 2. In a position detecting part 6, the running path data are computed based on both data. A navigation controller 8 displays the position, bearing and running path of the vehicle on a display 9 together with a road map. Furthermore, an initial-bearing correcting part 7 finds the starting position of a GPS satellite at the present time and selects the combination of the satellites, wherein the major-axis direction of an error ellipse most agrees with the bearing of the vehicle obtained by the temporary combination of the satellites. The combination is instructed to a GPS receiver 4, and the vehicle-position data for this combination is outputted.
