PURPOSE:To reduce the size, the weight and the power consumption by equally dividing a flat piezoelectric body or a movable body which is manufactured by forming a piezoelectric body on the surface of an elastic body in the moving direction, forming polarization change regions in odd numbers, and by forming polarization variable electrodes in odd numbers separately in each polarization change region. CONSTITUTION:Polarization slightly variable upper electrodes 1 are formed in odd numbers separately on a flat piezoelectric body 2, making the body 2 a movable body. A lower electrode 3 is formed or the entire lower surface without a break. By changing the polarization on the movable body, a slight dimensional change is generated. With the dimensional change, the center of gravity of the movable body is moved slightly in the desired direction. Successively, right at the time when a dimensional change of the polarization changed region and a dimensional change in a central region are offset, polarizations of both regions are changed. The same operation is conducted for each region. By repeating such operations, the movable body can be moved in the desired direction. By this method, a linear motor can be made simple-structured. |
