METHOD FOR PREVENTING UNPLEASANT SMELLS DURING HAIR PERMING, AND COMPOSITION THEREFOR

A method in which a post-treatment composition containing a combination of a suitable cosmetic carrier, (i) at least one mineral acid or a buffer mixture in a quantity such that the pH of the composition is between 3.5 and 5.5, or an organic acid in a quantity of 0.1-10 wt % relative to the weight of the whole composition, and (ii) at least one synthetic odoriferous organic compound, is applied to the hair after the reduction step using cysteamine or a salt thereof, and after the oxidizing step. The method efficiently prevents unpleasant smells caused by the decomposition products of cysteamine or a salt thereof.
