<p>A protective article, e.g. a surgeon's glove, comprises inner and outer layers of transparent or translucent polymeric material. Between the layers is sandwiched a solid particulate water-soluble dye. On rupture of the glove, liquid enters the cavity between the layers and dissolves the dye. This causes a colour change which warns the user that the glove has been ruptured.</p> |
