The invention concerns a tubular prop (1) for use in underground mines and tunnel-construction sites. The tubular prop body (2) has, viewed in the vertical plane, at least one plastically deformable zone (10) and is filled with water either before or after being placed in position. To this end, the prop body (2) has a filler valve (5) and an associated air-vent valve (6) fitted in the vicinity of the end plate of the inner tube (3), thus ensuring that the interior (9) is completely filled with water. The downwards force resulting from the rock pressure is thus largely neutralized since the prop (1) can deform plastically in a pre-determined region and can also become shorter. The approximately 20 % stretch in the material results in a decrease of about 40 % in prop length, thus giving a prop (1) of this kind a high degree of resilience. |
