Bales discharged from a bale chamber are turned through 90 degrees about their longitudinal axis and aligned with the direction of travel of the baler by means of a bale turner and aligner assembly comprising a loop member 11 supported in a vertical plane to one side of the bale chamber by a bracket 12, and a horizontal extension 21 of one half of the base of the bale chamber. The assembly may be arranged to discharge bales laterally to the right (Fig. 3) or to the left (Fig. 4, not shown). To discharge to the rear the loop member 11 is is removed and a second half extension (22) attached (Fig. 2, not shown).
