Compact heat exchanger having a high heat exchange coefficient between a liquid phase with or without a change in phase and a flowing gaseous phase, in which the liquid phase flows inside tubes (16) and the gaseous phase flows on the outer walls of said tubes (16). The tubes are coated or semi-coated with a porous metallic, solid mass (14) transparent to the gaseous phase, the tubes (16) and the metallic mass (14) constituting mechanicaly self-contained structures linked to one another.
