The spacer is almost all round supporting the rod retention and consists of several, identical, concrete support segments, which are opposite to each other w.r.t. the retaining aperture, using a resilient coupling of plastics or metal, as in 4102384. The coupling has resilient shanks, coupled at one end, for the retention of the reinforcement rods. From the shanks extend several coupling elements (11, 12) into the support segments. Pref. the coupling elements are formed by ribs etc., or are fitted with such. They may be flat and fitted with holes, or recesses filled by the segment material. ADVANTAGE - Reliable connection between resilient coupling and support segments.
