The terminal box has a base and a cooperating cover with an opening (4) in at least one sidewall (3) of the base, into which an insulator (5) incorporating electrical contacts can be fitted. The end of the insulator lying within the terminal box has at least one pressure point (19) engaged by an integral projection of the cover upon closure of the latter to press it against a stop provided by the inside wall of the base. Pref. the projection is provided by a pin acting perpendicularly on the pressure print of the insulator when the cover is closed. ADVANTAGE - Allows simple replacement of insulator and contacts.
