The press equipment comprises a glue application machine (5), a veneer application station (7), a press feed basket (1), a press (2), and a removal roller track (14). The press feed basket is movable crossways to the workpiece throughput direction and has at least two parallel conveyor belts (15,16). The veneer application station incorporates two successively arranged conveyor belts (8,9). The press feed basket (1) travels vertically and the veneer application station is provided with a rod chain conveyor for handling larger workpieces. The press is of the multi-stage type and the removal roller track (19) has a portal removal device (18), which engages over a removal roller track (19), a stack roller track (14) for smaller workpieces and a floor roller track (20) for larger workpieces.
