This invention provides an invalid seat for a motor vehicle, the seat including a cantilevered support arm for carrying the seat and attachable to the vehicle body for pivoting between in-board and out-board positions about a substantially vertical axis adjacent to a door pillar of the vehicle body, the cantilevered support arm being cranked whereby the cranked portion prevents contact between the arm and the door pillar when the support arm is in the out-board position, characterised in that the support arm is vertically movable whereby the seat can be raised to enable it to clear the vehicle body and/or to adjust the height of the seat relative to the ground to enable the invalid more easily to enter or leave the seat in the out-board position. |
