The rope one end is secured to the winch drum, while having a pressed steel sleeve at its other end. The latter is releasably insertable into a rope coupler, consisting of two rope sockets and an openable shackle. The coupler provides a rope extension with limited length. The extended length is led over a rope pulley of the jib and/or the crane hook. Pref. both rope sockets take up steel sleeves pressed onto respective rope ends. The steel sleeve may have an outer thread for screwing into a matching inner thread of the rope socket. USE/ADVANTAGE - For extensible, lorry-mounted crane jib, with a facility for rope handling by a single person.
