The operating method for electric storage heating with a heat storage core, a fan, a room temp. regulator, with a setting control and an actual room temp. indicator, uses a microprocessor (1) for regulating both the heat storage and heat dissipation cycles. The microprocessor provides a signal representing the actual room temp. as a function of a pair of signals provided by temp. sensors (4,5) for the air stream delivered by the fan and the heat storage core. Pref. the microprocessor controls the heat storage cycle via a relay or semiconductor switch inserted in the mains voltage supply line, the heat dissipation cycle regulated by controlling the rotation rate of the fan.
