<p>A method for forming a container such as a tray comprising the steps of cutting and splitting a bamboo stem (1) along its axial direction into a plurality of pieces thereof to thereby form a number of elongate bamboo members (4), joining said elongate bamboo members (4) so as to form a laminated bamboo plywood member (5), cutting said laminated bamboo plywood member (5) into thin bamboo sheets (6), and forming a container such as a tray from bamboo sheets (6) by using appropriate means such as pressing, cutting and joining. A container so formed is constituted by bamboo sheets (6) and comprises dense and coarse fiber portions of bamboo which are arranged in an alternate fashion. A reinforcing sheet (10) may preferably be bonded to at least one of the front and back sides of a bamboo sheet (6). In addition, in a case where a reinforcing sheet (10) is used, it is possible to achieve a strength needed for a container even if a wood sheet is used in place of a bamboo sheet. (6).</p> |
