The tube (3) is grouted into the opening (2) in a building wall (1), leaving an annular space between it and the pipe (14) passing through, and which is filled with sealant (26). The end (18) of the pipe towards the building interior (17) and which is situated inside the tube is sealed to an adaptor (16) connected to the indoor pipe. The annular chamber (25) enclosed by the tube, the pipe and two seals (9, 10) either side of the join between pipe and adapter is filled with polyurethane-based plastic. The tube and seals can be of plastic, the seal on the indoor side bearing against the periphery of the metal adaptor and the wall indoor surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - For water or gas, being simple to produce and instal and ensuring sealing if fire breaks out.
