A circuit (1) comprising two electronic switches formed from N-MOS transistors (13, 14) and designed to alternatively connect the input (8) of a preamplifier stage (9) to a first (5a) or second (5b) read sensor on the read head (5) of a magnetic tape (6). The circuit (1) also comprises a third electronic switch (15) formed from an N-MOS transistor and designed to ground (17) the input (8) of the preamplifier stage (9).
