A portable light unit which can be used to attract attention while the user is on the move and away from a fixed beacon, eg on a car, comprises a main case (1), into which are fitted a sealed xenon strobing beacon (2), rocker on/off switch (3), fixing point - stud illustrated (5), sealing gasket (7), metal battery holding bracket (4) and sprung centre pin (6), which mates with the positive battery contact. A rechargeable battery already in production for use with a range of portable radio equipment fits on to the base of the light unit. |
