<p>An optical element comprises a substrate consisting of a plastic optical element, an oxide film containing at least Pr and Al, formed directly on the substrate, and an inorganic antireflective film formed on the oxide film. Preferably the substrate and the oxide film have refractive indexes within a range of 1.6 to 1.7. The oxide film is preferably formed by reactive vapor deposition conducted under the introduction of oxygen, or by ion assisted deposition employing oxygen ions. <IMAGE></p> |
