PURPOSE:To ensure a smooth supply of ink or the like through imparting a short- time rising characteristic by driving a movable portion at a higher speed than usual until pressure reaches a set value. CONSTITUTION:Since a discharge-pressure or flow detecting means and a piston 14 driving pulse-generation control means 41 are provided, a piston 14 is driven in accordance with the pressure fall that takes on initial drive or the occurence of abnormal condition or when the piston 14 has been left unoperated for a long time. Consequently, the drive of a plunger 18 is controlled so that the reciprocation repeat cycles thereof may be shorter than that normal. Liquid discharge pressure or flow therefore rises rapidly so that the time required until a fixed pressure value is reached can be cut down. Namely, the level of discharge pressure or the internal pressure of a pressure chamber is detected and the reciprocation cycles of the piston 13 are changed accordingly for cutting down starting time. |
