<p>A false twist apparatus (10) of the type having three sets (11, 12, 13) of overlapping friction discs mounted on respective parallel spindles (14,15,16) located at the corners of an equilateral triangle, has first (14) and second (15) spindles connected by a first drive belt (17) and mounted on a fixed support (24), and a third spindle (16) connected to the first spindle (14) by a second drive belt (18) and mounted on a movable support (25). The movable support (25) is pivotally mounted on the fixed support (24) so that the third spindle (16) pivots about an axis (26) spaced from the axis (19) of the first spindle (14) to the opposite side thereof from the axis (21) of the third spindle (16). Such movement opens the apparatus (10) for threading purposes and then closes it to an operating position for false twisting yarn. <IMAGE></p> |
