In critical traffic situations, reactions to danger are frequently too slow and inappropriate because of obstacles. In such cases, collisions can be avoided automatically by an acceleration, braking or swerving manoeuvre. This is achieved by means of a hierarchical process and associated device. Vehicle- and course-related data are recorded by sensors. Ideal course signals are derived from these data and transmitted, together with data concerning an obstacle course recorded for example by sensors, in a second hierarchical step of an anti-collision device. Said device controls the regulating elements of the vehicle control so as to prevent collision in a third hierarchical step. The process and device are particularly suitable for road vehicles.
|
