<p>Disclosed is a compact ice making machine, in which a multiplicity of freezing fingers (17) formed on the lower surface of a freezing base plate (18) are dipped in the water supplied to a freezing chamber (29) defined in a water tray (16) to carry out a freezing operation under agitation of the water by a rocking plate (54) disposed to the freezing chamber (29) and form inverted dome-shaped ice pieces (21) gradually around the freezing fingers (17), and the ice pieces (21) are designed to be released by tilting the water tray (16). In this ice making machine, a mechanism (33,37,36,AM) for tilting the water tray and a mechanism (38,59,RM) for rocking the rocking plate (54) are integrated into one unit and disposed to an inner cover (27) so as to enable efficient assembly of the machine and to facilitate maintenance and repair of the respective mechanisms. Further, since the freezing operation is carried out under agitation of the water to be frozen by the rocking plate (54), opacification of the ice pieces (21) to be formed around the freezing fingers (17) can effectively be prevented. <IMAGE></p> |
