<p>The device for joining two undersea (submarine) cables, each having a bundle of optical fibres which is protected in a protective tube and having cabled armouring wires over an inner jacket covering the protective tube, comprises a strong support mounted on the protective tubes of the two bundles of fibres fusion-bonded to each other. It is characterised in that the support (10) is blocked on the protective tubes (2A, 2B) between the inner jackets (3A, 3B) of the cables and receives the end portions of the armouring wires, these being stretched longitudinally into a layer on its periphery, and an outer metal sleeve (11) is crimped onto the said support and onto the armouring wires between them. <IMAGE></p> |
