A valve controlling the flow of sand from a pressurized hopper 10 comprises a valve body 27 detachably connected to a rotatable spindle 24 in a housing 11. -On moving the spindle axially to the left, Fig. 2, the valve body projects beyond the housing, enabling it to be removed from the spindle, and a plug 23 secured to the spindle blocks the flow of material through the passage 15 to a pneumatic conveyer line 13, 14. The valve body comprises a part-cylindrical rubber member vulcanized around the base of a U-shaped plate, the legs 30 of which engage grooves 32 in the spindle 24.</p> |
