A remedy for airway diseases containing a basic fibroblast proliferating factor and/or a homolog thereof as the active ingredient; a remedy for airway diseases comprising a human basic fibroblast proliferating factor and/or a homolog thereof which basic fibroblast proliferating factor and/or a homolog thereof causes a microbe or a cultured cell to produce by gene recombination technology; and a method of treating airway diseases by administering these remedies.
