1,121,708. Pile fabric for fasteners. SELECTUS Ltd. 17 Nov., 1966 [18 Nov., 1965], No. 49047/65. Heading D1K. [Also in Division E2] A fastener member is produced by pushing fastener elements 2 through a synthetic resin sheet or fibres woven from glass fibre yarns, the fastener portions being formed before or after that operation with hooks 12, loops, or ball-shaped enlargements. The fastener elements may be metal or synthetic resin U-shaped staples which, after being pushed through the sheet, may be supported by anvils 7 and bent over by formers 9 either all in the same direction as shown or in alternate directions or may be formed with enlargements by heat. Alternatively, the elements may be long filaments with bent-out projections which are opened out after insertion through the sheet to form loops. After the elements have been pushed through the sheet, a backing layer is applied. This may be a synthetic resin sheet 5 secured by adhesive 6 or applied by coating, or a woven fabric secured by adhesive or stitching.
|
