A fluid-tight LeclanchÚ cell is made by placing a cup - shaped metal terminal cap 10 over the bottom of the zinc can 1, radially constricting the edges of the cap so that it is rigidly secured to the zinc can, and sticking a thin plastics foil 8 over the can wall and the constricted portion of the cap 10. A cardboard or plastics jacket 11 is finally fitted over the whole assembly. |
