<p>PURPOSE:To enable effective purifying treatment in urban without widely requiring a land are by a method wherein cylindrical blocks are arranged in the hole formed in the ground by a shield construction method in parallel to the hole axial direction and the spaces in those blocks are set to water treatment spaces. CONSTITUTION:In a water treatment system for sewage, cylindrical blocks 10 are arranged in the hole formed in the ground by an excavation method such as a shield construction method in parallel to the hole axial direction and the spaces of those blocks 10 are set to water treatment spaces to form a sand sedimentation basin 1, a first sedimentation basin 2, an aeration tank 3, a final sedimentation basin 4 and a chlorine charging tank 5.
