<p>The invention relates to a device for sawing an open, box- shaped object which is provided with insulated walls, such as a refrigerator or a freezer, into sections, comprising: i) a feed station for the open, box-shaped object which is to be sawn; ii) a sawing station with two saws positioned at a distance from one another; and iii) a clamping unit for accommodating an object clamped therein, which clamping unit can be moved between the feed station and the sawing station, and by means of a relative displacement between the clamping unit and the saws, it is possible to saw off upright side walls of the object, and to a method for sawing an open, box-shaped object which is provided with insulated walls, such as a refrigerator or a freezer, into sections, comprising: i) making a first saw cut in the upright transverse side walls at the level of the free edge of the transverse side walls; and ii) making an adjoining second saw cut in the base wall of the remaining part of the transverse side walls.</p> |
