PURPOSE:To divide bin trays for storing a bundle of recording sheets into two, one for storing recording sheets completely stapled and the other for storing recording sheets not yet stapled at all in a sheet distributing/storing apparatus which staples the bundle of recording sheets at a plurality of points. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus is provided with a staple number detecting means 7 for detecting when the remaining number of staples 6 of a stapling means 3 reaches a predetermined value, a processing number storing means 8 for storing the stapling number (n) of times already performed, and an operating means 9 for operating the number N of processable bin trays which can complete the whole stapling process to a recording sheet 1 from the detected remaining number of staples 6 and the stapling number (n) of times to the time point. Moreover, a control means 10 is provided for controlling the number of bin trays for conducting a series of stapling processes based on the comparison between the number N of processable bin trays and the number of bin trays 2 for already stapled sheets. |
