PURPOSE: To facilitate manufacture and to improve rigidity, appearance by superposing an upper surface layer on a base layer of a flexible multilayer structure having a body section trimmed by an edge section, incorporating a groove extended in a lengthwise direction in the edge section, thereby eliminating suturing and taping of the edges. CONSTITUTION: A floor mat comprises a base layer 15 and an upper face layer 12 superposed on the layer 15 which has a body section 20 trimmed by an edge section 21 which has grooves 22 opened on a bottom 19 of the layer 15 extended in a lengthwise direction of the section 21. The layer 12 is formed of a carpet material having wear resistance and good appearance, and the layer 15 is formed of a thermosetting elastomer material. An upper surface 23 of the section 21 is higher than the height of the section 20. Accordingly, necessary rigidity and flexibility are provided, suturing and taping of the edges are not required, appearance is improved to facilitate its manufacture. |
