PURPOSE:To readily and efficiently obtain a silicone rubber roller which does not foul a photoreceptor both immediately after the initiation of use and over a long period thereafter by molding a specific silicone rubber compound into a roller form, crosslinking the rubber, and heating the resulting roller in a vacuum. CONSTITUTION:A molding material containing a rubber compound which comprises a raw silicone rubber as the base polymer and in which the concentration of the sum of siloxanes with low degrees of polymerization and a silicone oil with no functional groups is 5,000ppm or lower is molded into a roller form and crosslinked. The molding is heated in a vacuum to obtain the silicone rubber roller. The heat treatment is conducted in, e.g. a vacuum oven preferably under conditions of a maximum degree of vacuum of 5mmHg or lower, a temp. of 150-250 deg.C, and a treating time of about 3-25hr. |
