PURPOSE:To reduce a jam generation rate by selecting a tray provided in a recording device. CONSTITUTION:In a recording device 13, the number of paper sheets fed out from a first to third paper feed trays 141-143 as well as a jam generating frequency is counted, and a jam generation frequency of each of the first to third paper feed trays 141-143 is calculated based on these count values. Priority of selection is lowered for a paper feed tray whose calculated result is not less than a specified value, while tray selection is conducted with a predetermined priority for a paper feed tray whose result is less than a reference value. Since the tray whose jam generation frequency is low is preferentially used, the jam generation is suppressed at a low value. |
