PURPOSE:To normally record images even when erroneous detection of register mark and skipping occur by changing controlling content for registration correction dependent on determination of a checking means. CONSTITUTION:At image recording of first color, a register mark 12 for registration correction is selected from patterns of plurality of types prepared previously in accordance with a predetermined order, so as to record on an electrostatic recording paper 4. At image recording of colors from second color, a CCD line sensor 11 reads the register mark 12 and inputs it to a control circuit. The control circuit compares the pattern of the read register mark 12 with a previously prepared pattern so as to determine a normal reading, an erroneous reading or a skipping of the register mark 12. In accordance with the result of the determination, the controlling content for correcting the registration is changed, so that normal recording of the image can be done even when the erroneous reading or the skipping of the register mark 12 occur. |
