PURPOSE:To dispense with drying an object to be sterilized after sterilization by a method wherein a heating means is provided on the bottom part in the body to preheat an object to be sterilized while generating steam and a water dropping- preventing ceiling plate at an upper part in the body to prevent dew formation on the surface of the object to be sterilized when the steam is generated. CONSTITUTION:An electric heater 4 is provided on the bottom part of the apparatus body 1 and a water dropping preventing plate 5 is provided at an upper part therein. Moreover, a water supply/discharge pipe 8 is connected to the bottom part of the apparatus body 1 to supply water into the body 1 and is provided with a valve 9. An exhaust pipe 10 is connected to the upper part of the apparatus body 1 to discharge air or steam in the apparatus body 1 and provided with a valve 11. An object 6 to be sterilized is placed on a rack 7 and after a door 3 is closed, the electric heater 4 is energized to generate heat so that the object 6 to be sterilized and the inside of the body are heated preliminarily. Then, the valve 9 is opened to supply water into the body 1 to a water level enough to submerge the electric heater 4. Then, the valve 9 is closed and the electric heater 4 is energized to generate steam. Subsequently, the valve 11 is opened to discharge air in the body 1. |
