<p>PURPOSE:To produce the subject binder composed mainly of a new metallic resinate, excellent in migration properties to paper, luster of a print, abrasion resistance, etc., and suitable for a publication grade gravure ink by reacting a reactional product from a resin acid and a modified petroleum resin with a metallic compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective binder composed of a metallic resinate is obtained by reacting (A) a reactional product from a resin acid, composed of a rosin (e.g. gum rosin), an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g. maleic acid) and a polyvalent carboxylic acid as necessary with (B) a modified petroleum resin prepared by adding an alpha,beta-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid to a petroleum resin with two or more kinds of metallic compounds (preferably potassium hydroxide, zinc oxide, etc.) in an organic solvent (preferably, e.g. an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent such as toluene). In addition, this reaction is carried out recommendably at 50 to 90 deg.C and the component (B) is used perferably in an amount of 5 to 40 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component (A).</p> |
