The present invention provides a brake system for a vehicle which is provided with wheels, in particular a service trolley for use in an aircraft, comprising: - one or more brake components for braking one or more wheels of the vehicle; - actuating means for actuating the brake components from two sides of the vehicle; and - a rotatable connecting component which forms the connection between the respective parts of the connecting means on the respective sides of the vehicle.
