The invention relates to a device and process for electronically monitoring (14, 15) and equalising the pressure inside the cuff of endotracheal tubes for the purposes of controlled breathing during inhalation anaesthesia with the introduction of a diffusing gas, e.g. nitrous oxide (N2O) or gas mixtures with diffusing components. The pulse from the pressure converter (1, 2) which is connected to the cuff (s) is preferably amplified (3, 4), passes to an analog multiplexer (5) from which it is taken to an alarm logic switching device (16) and shown on a numeric display. The electric motors (M, M1) are controlled in one or the other direction of rotation via a window comparator (9) with evaluation (12) of the difference between the measured and boundary figures so that pumps (P, P1) can cause the necessary increase or decrease of the pressure (volume) in the cuffs in order to keep the cuff pressure within the desired limits. |
