PURPOSE:To obtain a device for detecting the erroneous setting of a press plate for a newspaper, which can reduce the generation of spoilage to be caused after replacing a press plate and whose maintainace can be done simply, by providing a device for comparing printed information with printing information and deciding whether a press plate is correctly set on a roll of a predetermined printing unit, and a device for displaying and warning the result of decision. CONSTITUTION:While a CCD camera 1 set close to a guide roller 10 is being timing- controlled by an encoder 4, printed information in printed papers is read out, and an image signal obtained at that time is sent to an image processing device 5. The image signal sent from the CCD camera 1 is discriminated by the image processing device 5, and a discrimination signal of the printed information thus discriminated is sent to a decision device 6. Then, the decision device 6 compares the discrimination signal with printing information given in advance from a control device 7 provided on the upstream side of the decision device and decides whether a press plate is correctly set on a predetermined roll of a predetermined printing unit, and the result of decision is displayed on a displaying/warning device 8. Such a process is also performed by a CCD camera 2 in the same manner. In this way, the generation of spoilage which has been usually caused after replacing a press plate can be reduced. |
