PRODUCTION OF CARBON FIBER-REINFORCED CARBON COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite material excellent in mechanical property, frictional property and stable in product quality by allowing a boron compound to uniformly stick to the surface of a carbon fiber with a method such as dipping the carbon fiber in a boric acid aqueous solution and compositing a carbon fiber treated in such a manner with a matrix. CONSTITUTION:The carbon fiber is dipped into the boric acid solution dissolved in water or is sprayed with boric acid dissolved in water. The treated carbon fiber is composited with the matrix and at least one of the matrix raw material. A following method is also applied. That is, by the use of an electrodeposition solution containing the matrix raw material and boric acid, the carbon fiber is coated with the matrix raw material and the treated carbon fiber is molded and sintered.
