PURPOSE:To provide an apoptosis-inducting agent useful, e.g. as a new type safe anticancer and carcinostatic agent or a medicine for improving many diseases caused by infection with various virus. CONSTITUTION:This invention provides an apoptosis-inducing agent containing SYOSAIKOTO (a galenical drug composed of radices of Bupleuri, Scutelloria, Daucus, Glycyrrhiza, Zingiber, bulb of Pinella, etc., as the active component. This apoptosis-inducing agent enables effective apoptosis in a living body. Since the apoptosis is not death of a cell caused by necrosis but death essentially incorporated in the cell itself, unnecessary or pathogenic cells can be naturally removed. |
