<p>PURPOSE:To simply measure the thickness of a remaining furnace wall by inserting a rod attached with a stopper, mirror and lighting device at the tip part from a hole provided in the furnace wall at the time of blasting halt in a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:The blasting in temporarily halted in the way of the blast furnace operation and the hole 5 is bored in the furnace wall 6 and the rod 1 attached with the stopper 2, mirror 3 and the lighting device 4 at the tip part is inserted, and by hanging the stopper 2 on the inner surface of the furnace wall 6, the remaining thickness of the furnace wall 6 in the blast furnace at the hole part 5 is precisely and simply measured. Further, the wall surface in the furnace being apart from the hole 5 is lighted with the lighting device 4, and by observing with a mirror 3, the thickness of the furnace wall even at the peripheral part apart from the hole, can easily be measured.</p> |
